GCSE Geography tuition and exam entry
Geography at GCSE is taught here one-to-one, at 2341 Coventry Road, Birmingham and live online, on AQA 8035, Edexcel Geography A and B, and OCR. Geography is a memory subject wearing an essay disguise
Open any GCSE Geography mark scheme and the pattern jumps out: the top level always asks for named, located detail. Not "a river in the UK" but your river. Not "a tropical storm" but the storm you studied, with dates, figures and effects you can quote. Students who walk in with a case-study bank walk out with the grade.
So that is how we teach it. Your tutor works from your exact specification, whether that is AQA 8035, Edexcel Geography A (1GA0), Edexcel Geography B (1GB0) or OCR, and builds each case study into a one-page card: location, causes, effects, responses, three statistics worth memorising. Then we drill the command words, because "assess" and "to what extent" are asking for different paragraphs, and the paper only rewards the one it asked for.
Past papers from day one
Every topic ends the same way: a timed past-paper question, marked against the real mark scheme line by line, so feedback sounds like the examiner rather than a vague "good effort". On AQA, that includes proper rehearsal for Paper 3, where a pre-release booklet lands before the exam and prepared students treat it as free marks.
Lessons are one-to-one at £40 an hour, in centre or online, built around your child’s target grade and mock results. Many families add Geography alongside our core GCSE programmes at £300 a month, and we teach GCSE History the same way if the humanities column needs both.
Sitting Geography as a private candidate?
You do not need to study with us to sit the exam here. GCSE Geography entry is £300 at Birmingham (more at our other centres, see the fees page), including the board fee, invigilation and your seat. It runs in the May/June series only, and entries for 2027 close on 1 February 2027.

No coursework, no catch
GCSE Geography has no coursework and no NEA. Fieldwork is assessed through questions in the written papers, so private and home-educated candidates sit exactly the same exams as everyone else, with nothing to submit in advance. That makes it one of the most straightforward humanities to take from outside a school.
A-level Geography does include an NEA, an independent fieldwork investigation that must go through a centre. We host and authenticate the Geography NEA for private candidates at £400 for the May 2027 series, on AQA and Edexcel.

Does GCSE Geography have coursework?
No. GCSE Geography has no coursework or NEA, and fieldwork is assessed through questions in the written papers, so private candidates sit the same exams as school students with nothing extra to arrange.
How much does GCSE Geography tuition cost?
One-to-one GCSE Geography tuition is £40 an hour, in centre or online, and most students take one hour a week. Families already on a core GCSE plan simply add it alongside; full pricing is on our fees page.
