GCSE English Language courses and retakes
Our GCSE English Language courses run in small groups at our Birmingham centres on Coventry Road and Soho Road, and live online, taught from past papers on your own specification: AQA 8700, Edexcel 1EN0 or OCR J351. Retaking? We are a JCQ-approved exam centre as well, so resit candidates sit the exam here for £250 at Birmingham, and November 2026 resit entries close on 1 October 2026.
There is no content to cram, only method
English Language has no set texts. Every extract in the exam is unseen, which is why revising harder rarely moves the grade and method does. We train the routine: read the question before the text, know exactly what each question type pays for, and spend the minutes where the marks are.

As a JCQ-approved centre we enter private candidates for GCSE English Language in both the November 2026 and May/June 2027 series. English Language questions, answered straight
Can I retake GCSE English Language in November?
Yes. The November 2026 resit series runs at our Birmingham centres for post-16 candidates, and entries close on 1 October 2026. Miss that date and the next sitting is May/June 2027, which closes on 1 February 2027.
What is the speaking endorsement?
It is a short assessed presentation, graded separately from your written papers, and we run it for private candidates for £50 with sittings in November 2026 and May 2027. If your original school can carry your result over, you do not need to repeat it.
Which exam boards can I sit here?
AQA 8700, Edexcel 1EN0 and OCR J351 are all available at our centres. Retake candidates usually stay on the board they sat at school, because the question style is already familiar.
Do I need to take a course to sit the exam with you?
No. You can enter as a private candidate for the exam only, £250 at Birmingham and more at our other centres, then add tuition later if a marked mock says the grade is not safe yet.
