Biology carries the largest specification of the three sciences, yet most marks are lost on application: unfamiliar contexts, data questions and the synoptic essay. So every topic is taught from your board’s own specification, then tested straight away against its past papers, marked to the real scheme.

Home-educated and private candidates can complete the full practical endorsement with us in May 2027. The written grade is awarded separately, so check whether your university course asks for the endorsement before you book it.

How much does A-level Biology tuition cost?
A-level Biology tuition costs £25 an hour in a small group as a single subject, £200 a month at two hours a week. Across three subjects it drops to £17.50 an hour, on the full programme £12.50 an hour, and one-to-one is £50 an hour.
Do I need the practical endorsement as a private candidate?
Only if the universities you are applying to ask for it: the written A-level Biology grade is awarded separately, and plenty of courses accept it on its own. We run the practical endorsement for private candidates in May 2027 at £1,000.
How do you prepare students for the synoptic essay?
We treat the essay as a skill you practise, not a lottery: students plan and write a timed essay regularly, we mark it to the board’s levels, and they redraft until linking topics across the course becomes habit.
Can I study A-level Biology entirely online?
Yes, live online lessons run with the same tutors and the same prices as in centre, and when exam season comes you can sit the written papers at our Birmingham centres as a private candidate.
